Meditation Workshops

The Teachers

How did you get into this field?

I started psychology for many years to learn how to get out of my own misery. I also taught it at the university.  But psychology alone did not help me.  I don’t find a soul in that science, it gives only the technique.  It offers a clear understanding of how things work, but only on a horizontal level, not a vertical one.  There is no concept of presence of inner silence, or the watcher – and this are the basic fundamentals that do the work with the inner judge or critic.  I find that  psychology provides only a piece of the puzzle, not deep understanding of what meditation brings.

What has Meditation brought into your practice as a psychologist ?

It has given me more capacity to feel, to listen, to know the truth.  Now there is a space between me and the client and Ienjoy it much more.  When I meet someone new, it is always a brand new story, like when you see a movie for the first time.  I open myself to the details of what has happened to that person, in terms of his life and problems.  Facts can be similar, but each individual is different.

People notice this meditative space now, even in the West.  They feel the silence, especially when they come for the first time.  Sometimes it happens that after the session they look at me and say, “You are a very strange Doctor. I have been to many others, but you are unusual.  What did you do ?”

I really love this job because I meet the person in truth. When a person has a problem and is suffering he is always true; he cannot lie.  Even with friends there is always some type of covering of layer, but when a person in deep pain is there – just open without any mask – its so beautiful, like a sunset.  I’m deeply touched to share that space with them.

What courses and sessions do you give ?

Besides “Goodbye to the Inner Judge”, I facilitate courses such as opening to self love and opening to Intimacy.  Also individual sessions about different issues as well as Tantra Energy counseling, which help couples to bring Meditation into there sexuality and awareness into the way they interact with each other.

The Inner Judge is a structure of the mind created during childhood.
It evaluates us of our behavior.  As a child we incorporate the ideas of parents and teachers, because we need to protect ourselves in some way in order to function in the society, the schools, the family.  We get a lot of codes of how to behave or not to behave.  This continues up to 4 years of age;  at that time all the actual conditioning is finished and it goes on our whole life.

What does it feel like and what can we do about it ?

Most of the time we simply feel bad; We contract our bodies and become worried, but we don’t know why.  We are not aware that self negative believes are attacking us from the unconscious.

It is like having a virus in the mind.  We have many believes and concepts, but these self negative ones can be very dangerous. They are in our psychology system and get activated particularly when we want to expand in some way.  For example, if we want to become acquainted with a beautiful man or woman but don’t dare, maybe we believe that we are not good enough.

When the inner judge attacks it is not only in the mind; it is also a energetic manifestation – a dark, heavy energy coming from inside that goes against us.  The result is total contraction and collapse.  There is a negative affect on our immune system as well.

To deal with this structure, first, it is necessary to become aware that we have it.  We start to notice at witch moments it gets activated, and that makes it easier to distance ourselves from it.  Methods used in courses or sessions often bring about an emotional release, and afterwards we feel more relaxed.  This also strengthens our immune system – a fact which is supported by scientific research.

At the multiversity in India there are many courses and individual sessions that support understanding and clarity, and help to step away from this mind structure.

How does this work help support Meditatation ?

When you judge yourself less there is more silence inside.  It happens on many different levels.  The inner judge critises and tells you that you are bad and unworthy.  You can lose sleep, concentration and focus.  It is not enough to understand the process; you have to go totally into the experience.  Then a space comes between you and the judgment and you can watch it.  This brings about a kind of stillness, a feeling of relaxation and wellness, and meditation becomes easier.

How has all this affected your own life ?

I feel richer.  Basically my work helps me to go deeper into myself.  I see every person I have worked with as a part of me; I help people expand, and there expansion helps me to grow inside.  Sometimes a session is healing to me as well as a client.

I feel very lucky to do this job.  It is as if though I was born into it – Helping people makes me so fulfilled and content.  When I am sitting in front of a person and they get a new understanding or expansion, it feels like I am exactly in the right place at the right moment.

I have done this for 15 years and my joy continues to increase.  That is because of meditation.   The more I learn about myself, the more I want to share.  And sharing for me is working with people.
